Tax & Law is a magazine from EY Germany on current tax and legal topics. The magazine is published quarterly and is aimed at executives and heads of tax, finance and legal departments in German business.
Fuenfwerken has been responsible for the publication's design since its launch. Now, EY wanted to offer their readers a digital version as an app. Along with the quarterly issues, the app would house frequent news articles and monthly webcasts. An important requirement was to stay true to the magazine's content and format as much as possible. So, we translated print into digital by determining common modules and breaking down articles and media into a managable, mobile-friendly experience.
Fuenfwerken has been responsible for the printed magazine's design since the first edition released in 2014. After four successful years, EY wanted to expand their news coverage digitally for both free and subscription content.
We started by translating the magazine from cover-to-cover into smaller modules to determine common elements that would streamline the wireframing and development process.
We wanted to stay true to the magazine's structure and content as much as possible.
The table of content breaks down artciles into individual chapters. That makes for a more digestive reading experience rather than having to scroll through an articles endlessly.
